Saturday @ Lengkok Bahru

Vision
Setting time aside to care for the community on Saturdays.

Mission
Reaching out to the community at Lengkok Bahru, by alleviating
the residents’ quality of life, through the demonstration of God’s love
& power.

History & Now
In 2011, a small group of volunteers from Grace Assembly started to
invite the elderly & needy residents living in Lengkok Bahru blocks 52-
61 to the void deck at Block 52 for lunch on Saturdays. As more elderly
started to gather every Saturday, new friendships were formed & the
community strengthened, with volunteers even helping with repairs of
appliances in their homes. For residents who were absent, volunteers
will bring food packages to their homes.

This ministry has since grown, is currently headed by Bro Raymond
Khoo (Grace member & owner of The Peranakan@Orchard), with his
team of faithful & dedicated volunteers. Lunch is still being served to
60 residents. After lunch, a chartered bus brings 25 residents to attend
Saturday Hokkien service at Grace Assembly. Tuition sessions held at
nearby Community Centre, are attended by 25 children. Overall, the
ministry serves a total of 135 families.

Ultimately, this ministry would like to see more residents & their
children attend church services at Grace Assembly, where they will
find meaning & fulfillment in life through the gospel message of Jesus
Christ, thereafter reaching out to help others.

Join us to serve in any of these following areas
– Serve ‘Makan’/Lunch
– Befriending the Elderly
– Food Distribution nearby Elderly HDB homes
– Other Services (Hair-grooming etc)
– Children’s Tuition Teachers
